The industry of advertising is often referred to as “AdWorld” or “AdLand”. This is also how I see it. And within AdWorld there are continents and countries. I know I want to be in this AdWorld, I just didn’t know where I’d end up making my home. For this reason I wanted a chance to travel around AdWorld and experience what each country and continent had to offer, and see whether the climate suited me.
So I created boarding passes, tailored to each agency I was to speak to, with a multiple choice option for them to choose where to send me. This came with my RMIT passport, which held information about me, explained my USP and explained how the whole concept worked. I asked heads of agencies to fill-out the boarding pass, and send it back to me, in an envelope, which already has my address and a postage stamp.
My USP was "I am yet to decide where I belong in Advertising, and therefore willing to try everything."
